Governor General and Canadian Military Commander- in-Chief David Johnston was in good company as Military Commander  and Chief of Defense Staff Walter Jonh Natynczyk, RCMP Commisioner  Bob Paulson, and  members of the public celebrated his birthday as part of the RCMP Musical Ride Sunset Ceremonies, at the Police Training Headquarters in Ottawa, ON, Canada. In addition to the commanders of the military and RCMP, members of the Ottawa Police Band Pipes and Drums regiment as well as the elite ShyHawks Paratrooper Squadron joined in on the celebration.

The aboriginal community introduced a new flag to the RCMP series to recognizing the introduction of the Aboriginal Policing Services established 14 years ago, presenting a plaque commemorating their years of dedication.
