Mont-Tremblant was the site the the Super Series Giant Slalom race on Thursday December 20th, 2012.

The women’s two day event was condensed to a single day in anticipation of a major winter storm forecasted for day 2.

The morning event was won by Laurence St-Germain (Mont Ste-Anne, QC) in her first GS victory. Her most recent victory was in the Slalom event at Mount Norquay, Alberta two weeks ago. Second place went to Adrienne Poitras (Mont-Tremblant, QC). Katerine Lamoureux, also from Mont-Tremblant, took third.

The afternoon was dominated by Mikaela Tommy (Edelweiss, QC) who took the top step of the podium with a combined time of 1:55:32, a full second ahead of Rebecca Nadler (Harvard ski club). Third place once again went to Katerine Lamoureux (Mont-Tremblant, QC).

The resort will host the Men’s Giant Slalom event on the weekend of December 22nd and 23rd.

The Super Series program consists of FIS races overseen by Ski Quebec Alpin (SQA). The program is sponsored by Sport Expert and Audi Canada serving as a development program, promoting fitness and training for young athletes.
