Alice Cooper was the main stage opener for Saturday night’s Bluesfest show. Originally from Detroit, this “King of Shock Rock” has been slaughtering the stage for over four decades now.

Cooper’s stage shows are some of the most outrageous, which normally feature baby dolls, guillotines, fake blood, boa constrictors, and electric chairs.

Some of his biggest known hits were “Schools Out”, “I’m Eighteen”, and “No More Mister Nice Guy”. These days you can find him hosting the very popular radio show “Nights with Alice Cooper”.

As the curtain dropped, Alice was centre stage, perched high atop a staircase, wearing his usual black leather and chains with long dangling spider arms draped from his suit.

On stage left were Ryan Roxie and Tommy Henrikson, both on guitars. Filling the other side was the 27 year old blond guitarist Orianthi, from Michael Jackson’s band, and bassist Chuck Garric. Filling in on drums for Glen Sobel was Jonathan Mover.

During” Feel my Frankenstein “he was dressed in a blood covered trench coat with red rubber gloves. And had a 15 foot tall Alice cooper “Frankenstein” lurching around on stage.
The crowd was blown away when confetti blasted into the sky and the “shock rock king” himself ended his set with “schools out” wearing a black top hat and an Ottawa Senators jersey with “Cooper” on the back.
