On Friday August 23 the Carleton Ravens basketball team took on the Syracuse Orange in a pre season game dubbed the Can Am Shoot Out. After winning the opening tip off the Ravens went on the offence and led the game by five within the first two minutes. After a few threes from both ends the Ravens lead at the half by 32-23.
In the Second half the Orange turned up the intensity, and at one point went on a six-point run. With 4:40 left on the clock things were all tied up at 54 a piece. A couple of free throws put the Orange in the lead, but the Ravens answered right back with two points with 2 minute left, and that took us into extra time.
Syracuse got some key free throws in extra time, and with the Ravens unable to sink a few key chances when final buzzer went the Syracuse Orange led the Carleton Ravens 69-65 for the win.
